Career Coaching Program

The YMCA of Greater Seattle is in search of professionals from the community to become Career Coaches for young adults striving to gain independence and stability.  The Program is focused on improving the employment outcomes (both short and long-term) of homeless and at-risk youth.  Thus, we need volunteer coaches to meet with young adults (ages 18+) one-on-one or in a group-setting to share information about their professions, provide support in helping young adults progress and achieve their employment-related goals, and, most importantly, be willing to learn, listen, and laugh.

Help bridge the opportunity gap by offering your support

How do I become a Career Coach?

  • Coaches must be 23+ and willing and ready to advise, guide, and share their experiences with young adults.
  • Time commitment:  2-4 hours per month for 6 months
    • one-time opportunities are also available (i.e., partake in an informational interview or lead a job shadowing experience).
  • For more information about the responsibilities of a Career Coach, please download our volunteer position description
